There is a reason that the medicine is in jars, to keep it fresh. But just like a real old time medical dispensary all the medicine is kept in a jars. This should be a clue into how you should keep your medicine at home, I do. Perhaps one day you will be able to get a jar to keep your medicine in from Grass Roots till then go to Pier One. But this is not a review for them its for the BEST dispensary in the middle of the city.
There are many reasons that it is the best, the first mentioned above. Another is the staff, not only are the always friendly and in a good mood. (come on they work where everyone arrives and leaves happy) But they also know their stuff, they try almost every strain and they even have a good understanding of how each strain can help your aliments. Ask them why this one is better then the next and and this STAFF will be able to tell you.
The atmosphere is another reason it is a wonderful dispensary to go to. As of this post the interior has been newly remodeled and you feel like you are inside a bud when you walk into see the baroque green, felt reliefed wallpaper. But that is not the half of it, a richly warm woodwork including a bar. That is right a bar the staff is on the other side and the jars are just underneath where they can find them when you ask for it. This makes the experience much more personal because unlike some places there is no glass between you and your "Budtender".
Grass Roots has almost 40 varieties available each day, they range in price from as low as $30 and all the way up to $60 per eighth. And the stuff is fresh, for the most part. Edibles, Tea, and other things are available as well. The Hash comes in at least 5 varieties and of course there is a nice selection of Keif as well..
And the best reason you can have for visiting and getting your medicine here is that there is very little chance for a bait and switch. They let you see the kind you want place it in the jar top, you can look at it under a lit magnifying glass so you can see the buds up close and personal. Then they will weight it up and bag it for you right there. No pre-weight baggies, no show you the jar and give you another kind. And what you see is just what you get. Always.
To summarize: Freshness, Knowledgeable Staff, Health Atmosphere, and a fair deal. Oh and did I mention the discount when you purchase more than $50 (that's right only $50) worth of medicine. Grass Roots is an esprit de corp dispensary without pretension or guile. That is why it is my favorite place to get my medicine, period.
